I remember the store in Manhasset - we used to go all the time when I was a kid. Thanks for jogging fond memories. I'm pretty sure they had one of those hutches in their home...but I'll have to have that corroborated. Thanks for this!
Lesliehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07241919083550233006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1199733226121973538.post-5600087357250426432015-04-26T22:40:15.931-04:002015-04-26T22:40:15.931-04:00What a lot of people forget, is that while Paul Mc...What a lot of people forget, is that while Paul McCobb was a wonderful designer... so were Furst and Fellner!

If you own a Furst and Fellner piece from the Gallery Group, even just the brass hutch will fetch anywhere from $2700-3500. Adjusted for inflation, that hutch which sold for $275 in 1957 dollars is $2600. Not chump change then, and definitely not now.

If you own one of these pieces, enjoy it! They are a great example of Mid Century Modern design, and have great aesthetic as well as monetary value.M. Once you know your subject it becomes fairly easy to spot the copycats. Proving it... well that takes diligence, hard work and more than a just little bit of luck.Jonathan Goldsteinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03541901365888585260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1199733226121973538.post-24604450135327314102011-01-16T21:54:22.857-05:002011-01-16T21:54:22.857-05:00Fascinating post. I hope someday my eye will be trained to see the differences like yours is.Dana@Mid2Modhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03055460107477850683noreply@blogger.com
